SUMMER UPDATES!

We praise God that the 3 centres in WA have continued to meet to pray weekly. It is our prayer that the God remains the center of our lives even in the midst of holidays and festivities. Do not let the hustle and bustle of life overwrite what is important! Jesus has promised "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33).

'How do I do that???', you may ask. Well, here are a list of practical steps to keep walking closely to God each day even when you're overseas:

- meet up with your prayer buddy to pray
- be accountable to your prayer buddy: let him/her know how you have been doing, what he/she can pray for you about. (SMS, E-MAIL, MEET-UP, SKYPE, etc!)
- get to know the God you love through the bible: when was the last time you did your devotion?
- wake up, sit up, and commit the day to God in a prayer. It doesn't have to be long, just talk to God- He listens.

OCF Curtin Welcomes YOU

Greetings! Welcome to Curtin University here in Perth, Western Australia!

It's our pleasure and honour to welcome you to Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) Curtin. It is also our joy to stand alongside with you during your time here.

Overseas Christian Fellowship is a student support group focused on sharing the love of God and the experience of knowing Jesus as our Lord and Saviour to the overseas student body. OCF is also dedicated to teaching and equipping Christian students overseas with biblical principles and values regarding Christian Living. We are an inter-denominational parachurch body, therefore, we do not replace the local church but functions as an arm of the church. OCF's ministry has been established since 1958, providing a network for more than 16 centres in other Universities all over Australia.

We would be happy to assist you in anyway, particularly in adjusting to your new student life overseas in Australia and answering any questions that you might have.

Most important of all, we hope to help you grow in Christ through the activities that we have, fulfilling our vision of reaching out, building up and sending effective servants of Christ back to their respective home ministries!

Sincerely,
OCF Curtin '09

Last year 2008, our theme was Transforming Truth, Colossians 2:2-3. And this year 2009, we will venture into our new theme, Surrendering in Faith.

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the ransom for all our sins and to give us life and hope. Therefore, we surrender our lives to God, to walk life's journey not by sight, but by faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God. In faith, we live in obedience to God, experiencing His Love and availing ourselves to the extension of his Kingdom.

Together we hold onto the promises of God, deifying, encouraging and supporting one another. Keeping our eyes on the goal and finishing the race set before us, fulfilling the great commission; making disciples of all nations, to share the gospel so that many more will come to know of our Lord Jesus and God's love for them.

Surrendering in Faith
Galatians 2:20

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

May God Bless You
